I have read a lot about disreputable schools who fire teachers two weeks before the end of contract to avoid paying for the end of contract bonus or flight reimbursement.

So my question is how do I avoid this? Is there some clause I can add into the contract to make sure I don't get scammed and do get the benefits I'm entitled to? Am I able to get this before I leave the country.

I'm directing this towards East Asia, in particular Japan, Taiwan and Korea. Any helpful advice or anecdotes are welcome.
D.
