Kmac, thanks for posting this. If you make a few more posts I can PM you.


I last visited Jim in the Care Home in Glasgow in November 2012. He has descended into that Darkness from which only Death gives a release. He did not recvognise me, or at least made no signs of knowing me.

I first met him in the 1960s when we were students in Edinburgh. Very bright, intelligent but a troubled soul. I visited him in Brno and in Prague when he was teaching there.
