Hi,
I would be extremely interested in getting a position in Lyon. I am an American, with a BS in business and a MA in TESOL plus 2 years work experience. I found a company in the US that will assist me with getting my visa, but I need to find a job before I can go to them. Ideally I would like to teach business english.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me?
Thank you! |

Sorry acoma, but the chance of getting a job without first going to France is next to impossible. Your credentials certainly would get you work, no doubt whatsoever. But a full-time contract position with which you can do the visa work will only be possible if you go there & find it yourself (others are welcome to disagree). Also, in Lyon there are so many teachers that the schools have no real need to offer full-time contracts. This is not to say there aren't schools elsewhere in France (and I recently spoke to another in Germany) that can offer full-time contracts to Americans. So, in my opinion if this is something you really want you will have to make an exploratory trip to find a company that will go to bat for you on the visa procedure. Good luck! |
