I'm looking to move to Argentina in late January 2005. I've lived in Costa Rica and Spain, and now I want more than anything to go to South America. I would like to teach English, so I want to be as prepared as I can be before I depart. I've been told that cities such as Mendoza, Cordoba, etc. outside of Buenos Aires have better job prospects (for teachers). Does anyone have any insight to offer in regards to job possibilities? best city to live in? contacts? what about job opportunities in general? Specifics would be helpful. Thanks for your help.

All I can say is me too. I'm going to BA in Jan 05.

Hoping to find work in Argentina, will look in BA then Cordoba and Mendoza, if I can't find anything liveable I'll probably head to Santiago, there's supposedly plenty of work there.

Yes but the exchange rate would be less favorable to you if you are looking to get by on your savings. I'm not sure that you should go there without applying first to a school.

This site lists a bunch of schools in Santiago.
http://www.eslbase.com/schools/chile I would contact these schools before heading to Santiago.
