Hi all you crazy cats out there in ESL world,
I'm going to Costa Rica sometime mid autumn (2004). I want to immerse myself in this culture and improve my Spanish. However, as a shivering Canadian, I would also love to work outside of San Jose on a beach and learn how to surf.
Any tips/contact info for working at hotel chains? Or, if not likely, any tips for working in a smaller city than San Jose?
I'm a passionate and dedicated CELTA (Pass B) certified teacher, have an Honours degree in International Relations, tonnes of experience in business communications and a real love of the classroom. I've taught all levels and most ages. What are my chances of getting my dream job?!?!
Any words of wisdom would be GREATLY appreciated - I'll happily buy you a beer or two upon arrival!
Thanks guys -

I think that if you just show up, and present your skills at ahotel or school, they might offer you a job. Language school work should be easy to find. |

email louis at hotel las tortugas in playa grande http://www.cool.co.cr/usr/turtles/ - i don't know if you'll have any luck, but it's a shot. a friend of mine and i stayed there for a few weeks for free while we worked on his website (and don't laugh at it, it is exactly as he wanted it ) anyhow, he offered me a job there, working at the desk and helping to tutor his staff in ESL exchange for getting to stay there for free... unfortunately, i had to get a job that would help me pay off my credit card bill maybe he would still be willing to make an arrangement? |
