I'm thinking about doing private classes to supplement my income. Once I build my client base I would like to "hire" other teachers to teach the new classes and while I make a profit. For example, say I charge $20 for a class. I could hire other teachers and pay them $12 dollars an hour/per class, and they would still be making good money and I would have a good profit. Is this possible? How would I go about doing this? Is it legal? I don't plan on opening an actual business or corporation out of this in the beginning stages. Would it be illegal if I didn't? I would be doing this in Mexico, probably Guadalajara, if that helps. Any advice about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Seriously,I do not think anyone on this board is going to be able to give you "off-the cuff"(and accurate) information as to whether what you are contemplating is legal or not..I know I can't.You will probably have to talk to someone official at some Mexican government bureau...if you want the REAL answers(well, even THAT is no guarantee,of course).Of course, since what you want to do is do all of this sort of sub-rosa,maybe you do not want to attract the attention of the authorities? I am not making any judgment(I honestly do not know) if what you are contermplating is legal.Of course, you could try it...but what happens if one of your "teachers" gets mad at you for some reason, real or imagined and goes and squeals to the authorities? Where are you then? What you are contemplating...sounds very nice in theory...but dealing with other people(especially some of the people in TESOL) on a basis which is largely unofficial.I don't know...whole thing does not sound like such a wonderful idea to me...
