HI.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of KNES (Kuwait National English School) and/or taught there. I have been offered a teaching position there: teaching children with special needs. I have heard alot about living in Kuwait and am now interested in hearing a teachers' perspective on the school.
Thanks. |

If you fancy a trip on the Titanic, then join KNES.It has lost quite a few teachers, the hours are constantly being amended so that teachers are doing a 9 hour day 3 days a week at the minute and the degree of discipline among the students makes the chimps' cage at Kuwait zoo something to be envied. Not for the faint hearted... |

Hey.
Thanks for replying. I thought I wasn't going to find anyone from the school. Just a couple more questions though...
did you teach there? for how long? and when were you there?
do all the teachers HAVE to follow the "discipline" method of the school?
what other problems have teachers faced there?
any positive things about teaching at KNES?
I really appreciate your help here... its hard to know what a school is like if you can't visit it before signing the contract!
Thanks again,
Jess |

My friend,
Listen to the advice of Col. Saoud! If you want to go to the ME, apply for positions in the Emirates, or even Bahrain (but not Al Hekma!). Good fortune to you on your search. |
