I am interested in conducting a feasibility study on operating a small ESL business teaching adults in one of the smaller cities in Egypt (not Cairo or Alex). e.g. cities like Damietta or Port Said with a population of 500,000 each.
I see lots of information available on teaching and what schools are good/not good to work for, but I never see any tips on evaluating ESL as a business opportunity. Can you point me to any published material, web sites or individuals?
I want to know what the factors are that I need to consider. e.g. population to income to competition to need to advertising, etc.
I have many years experience in Information Technology as a project manager and analyst in Canada, plus I earned by CELTA certificate last year. My husband is Egyptian and we are hoping he could do the marketing. We would hire another native English speaking person to teach. I would teach part time and manage the business part time. |
