I am an American aspiring to get an Italian Passport through my great grandparents (born in Italy), however, on the Consulate website they only state rules to get the citizenship through the grandparents. On this forum I read awhile ago about people who did this through their great grandparents... I just want to make sure this is possible?

Otherwise, my mom is more than willing to apply for the citizenship which should then give me the citizenship. Am I correct in that assumption? Does anyone know which would be easier... that is, have my mom apply for it and then it would be passed to me, or should I just apply for it directly eventhough the consulate website doesn't state that it can be done through great grandparents? Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
