I'm just wondering if anyone has heard about quarantines for expats from Taiwan travelling to any of the above countries for a visa. Now that we are on the WHO list, things seem to be heating up and I need to make a quick visa run sometime soon. Also if you have any thoughts about which location is the easiest to apply to for a visa, I would really like to hear your opinions. Any info would be much appreciated! |

All the destinations you mentioned are possible. If you are going to Japan the closest and cheapest place in Naha, Okinawa. It is about a one hour flight from Taipei. Japan can be expensive for accommodation so look up the address of the Youth Hostel via Google.com.
The exact cost and amount of time to issue a visa will vary from place to place. In Thailand I know you can apply in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon the next day. I think you can get it the same day if you pay extra.
Check the Government Information Office website for the addresses of the various "Taipei Economic and Cultural Offices" (aka Taiwanese Embassies, but don't tell China ) |
