Hi,
I would like to know whether any expat, teacher ... is over there in Rabat, Casa , Tangiers ...
Hope everybody is safe. Maybe some people would like to share their reactions and give us another perspective.

I think anyone who frequented any of the venues hit would be thinking there but for the grace of God,...I remember a group of ESL teachers going to the Casa de Espana for paella one daywhile I was there.
Still, I think Morocco is safer than most American cities. There's very little gun violence there, few few monster SUVs and drunk drivers terrorizing the roads and very few drug-crazed individuals terrorizing the public.
And I dispute the idea of the bidonvilles being perfect breeding grounds for terrorists. In Morocco, living in a bidonville gives one a chance to get the government to build them a house. I have visited numerous bidonvilles, and some of them were quite comfy, apart from lack of plumbing. The whole lack of plumbing idea is all relative there anyway, many people go to public baths, and rural Moroccans must get water from a public tap just as many people do in other parts of the Mediterranean, ie Spain, Italy. |
