Hey there. I will be in Floripa on March 1 and was wondering if anyone had some connections or insights that they would like to share. Also, I have some serious dreads... must I cut them off?Crying or Very sad I get the feeling that I will have to. Thanks for the help.

greengiant

Since Carnaval is now, and everyone goes back to school just after, you should go now or in early March.

I remember someone else on this board saying dreads are a no-no... The only people I ever saw with dreads in my year of southern Brazil were rock stars and homeless hippies. And lemme tell ya, if you wanna see prejudice, just ask an upstanding Brazilian what he/she thinks of hippie culture.
