|

Hi! I have been teaching for about three years, I have a CELTA and am currently teaching in Cairo, I am looking to work in Dubai come September... Everything I read about schools in Dubai is negative.. does anyone have a nice little list of 'good' schools? It seems that there are alot of schools that will employ any old teacher and then the schools and Unis that ask for MAs and 25 years experience....Can anyone help?
By the way, I work for ili in Cairo, its a good place to work, we are not, as i have read previously on this forum, 'uneducated'!!

What exactly do you mean by 'schools?' Are you interested in language schools? (they are pretty iffy jobs in most countries...) Are you interested in primary or secondary schools? The ones that are better to work for are the international schools, but they tend to require home country certification in your area.
The general problem with this type of job that takes limited credentials is that they don't pay enough to really live any kind of acceptable lifestyle. It is rather like living on Egypt income with US/European cost of living. In Egypt it is easy and lucrative to do private lessons. In the gulf, there are not as many available.
In general, the jobs at these places at taken by people who have a spouse that has a standard job with all the benefits and acdeptable wage.
