Dear all,
I'm preparing to move to Grenoble to teach English in a week. I was wondering what kind of wages are generally paid in France for English teaching in private schools ? Also how many hours a week is typical in these schools ? I have two and a half years of teaching General and Business English, a CELTA and a masters degree. Finally with these qualifications could I teach in any other schools (ie universities, lycees)?
Hope you can help,
Regards,
Chris Lash. |

That's a broad question.
I have seen salaries in private language schools ranging from 8 to 20 Euros per hour |

Minimum salaries are set by the "Convention Collective" which governs holidays, types of contracts etc.
If anyone tries to pay you less than this you can easily take them to court.
