Hello all,

I have a question. I am currently getting my ESL Certificate from a university in New Jersey and was wondering if this cerficate is the same as the certificates that are mentioned here?

Thanks for your input.

I would presume that it is. There are various ESL or EFL certs given out by various educational institutions around the world. The most well known internationally is the CELTA. As long as it isn't one of those that you get by taking a couple hours on a Saturday morning, it should be fine. In particular, if it is accepted by your state authorities to add ESL to state certification, you know that it should be OK.

You had mentioned to me that you have an MA in Education, so I would think that most employers would be happy with this certificate. A few years of experience in ESL/EFL would make them even happier. Smile

thanks so much for your reply.

It will take me another semester of classes and then I should receive my ESL certificate from the State of NJ. I was just getting worried that I don't have a CELTA or a RSA certificate and wasnt' sure if it was the same.

Thanks Again!
