Naaa... this wasn't heated. You must be new around here. Nobody called anyone names or got edited.
I would not be surprised if the UAE decided to require MAs in all the tertiary institutions. They do tend to be obsessed with pieces of paper over there. But I also suspect that they will find themselves having lots of trouble getting enough teachers if they do that.
BTW, as I posted on another thread, I have heard through the grapevine that HCT still needs quite a few teachers for next year. They have never quite figured out that they turn down way too many experienced good teachers in their interview process. Anyway, those of you who haven't already been turned down this year might want to send off an application. For those in the US, they will be interviewing (along with UGRU and ZU and likely others) in Texas at the TESOL convention the first week of April.
