Hello,

I have several questions regarding dress standards for ESL teaching in Mexico (in particular, the DF). First, when I go and knock on the door at various English institutes in search of a job, is wearing a suit and tie a must? I've been very lucky up to this point in working in an industry with extremely casual dress standards, so I only own one suit which I wore to interviews after college and it hasn't seen use since. It's probably too small for me now, and I probably couldn't tie a cravat if I had to do it to save my life.

Second, after I secure a position, what will I be expected to wear to work? A suit and tie, or will slacks and a nice shirt, or even jeans and T-shirt, suffice?

Thanks,

-sjs
