Has anyone had experience moving used household effects between EU and nonEU countries? I'm taking a small trailer with books, clothes, (no TV) etc. from France through Switzerland into Italy and I was wondering how the customs officers in Switzerland and Italy react and what they want to see. I have Italian citizenship. Do I need a detailed inventory if I am travelling with the items? Any advice or experiences appreciated. Thanks, Shirley

Id have a detailed inventory prepared to show at the border, along with some documents that prove that you only intend to pass through.

Seriously, you're best off asking the relevant authorities of BOTH countries (Switzerland and Italy). Citizenship doesn't affect what you're allowed to bring into a country, except in very unusual cases.
