Hello All,
I am an American ESL and EFL instructor with eight years experience, a BA in English, a TEFL Certificate, a DELTA, and now an MA in TESOL. Having spent the last two years back home, slaving for this MA, I am interested in going to Mexico to learn some Spanish, and see how I like it. I am prepared to stay for one school year to try it out.
Im not a newbie (to teaching), and I want a job that will be challenging and still afford me the opportunity to look around the country a bit. Money is a consideration as far as providing me something I can live on, or get me close to breaking even on the money I take with me. Ive read a bit about Oaxaca and would like to check out that city. However, Im not picky, Id like to work someplace thats either culturally interesting or beautiful, or both.
I understand, from reading previous posts, my best bet would be to just go and try to find work there. This seems to be true of most countries.
So, I was wondering if any of you might have some suggestions of schools, or universities that I could approach when I arrived or before.
Any other suggestions, or things I should consider before embarking would be welcome.
Thanks a lot,
