I am intrigued about teaching in europe ..... i have experience teaching in china and have 5 yrs of french study under my belt but am more interested in greece and italy.... i know that it is difficult for an american to get a chance to get a job in europe now, but should i just give up or is there just an extended period of time that i will have to wait? i would also appreciate any intimate information that anyone has about schools/companies in italy and greece.... thanks! xiao yu

If you are really interested in teaching in Greece and Italy,I suggest you contact their embassies(or consulates) for the real info.I am certainly not an expert, but I think,as a non-EU person, you are going to have trouble getting LEGAL work in either country. In some EU countries,if you can prove that one of your ancestors(usually this is limited to a grandparent or parent...no further back than a grandparent),you can get citizenship in that specific country.I do not know if that works for Greece and Italy.Like I said, check with their embassies. You might be waiting a long time.I suggest, that if you are really interested in working there, that you find some other job in the meantime, while applying. It might be a long wait.Anyway, best of luck. Smile
