Pelabuhan Ratu. Bung that name into Google and take it from there. As your time is limited, it's your best bet. You can get a taxi from Jakarta for 200 odd thou. Do the deal before you go, rather than using the meter. There's sun sand and surf. Have fun! |

PBR is a very mellow, laid-back place. You might be able to get a taxi even cheaper; when I visited there I could often arrange for a car and driver for 150 thousand. |

You could get a cheap Merpati flight over to Jogja and have a look around there for a couple of days. Plenty of walking around looking at stuff to do there! |

I agree with the Yogya comment. It's a great little city, and you could stay downtown at Tulips (Jl Tirtordipuran) but phone first, where there's mild night life, or in town near the station and lots of interesting restaurants in gang I and gang II. Watch your wallet though, as it could be removed very professionally. This is why you see guys walking around with their rucsacs facing front.
Wander around the Kraton with a guide, but avoid the temptation to buy batik, as you'll be done every time. Better to ask one of the staff at Tulips to make some suggestions. |

Yeah true, I was forgetting that I meant Silver Bird, hence the higher price. Gotta travel in style.
If you want night life, stay in Jakarta. |

I agree with Gurustip, check out Jogja. Thef lights are cheap and the city's sweet. I wes there only 4 days and and managed to see the temples get really pissed a couple of times and take a bus to Mt. bromo and back which is really a must see. (10 hours away) Jogja itself is really cheap friendly and alot of fun. (SHHHHH, so are the women there) |

Don't forget to check out the blingalows as well. They're real jewels!
Singalows are held every Friday night. And tingalows are what you'll get from some of the native women. |

Henry.
Thank you so much for correcting my type-os.
Who needs a spell check with you around?
Indeed I meant to say the bungalows are nice.
And mate, your witty remarks are hilarious.
I was giggling like a teenage girl when I read them. I am sure you were too, and do so on a regular basis.
More rib-tickling please. |
