wow, my own special thread!
life in brazil is good, but coming to an end for me, i'm afraid. the semester ends thursday, and i leave lins saturday to visit salvador, manaus, and rio before heading to the US. i loved my time in brazil, though i got a little sick of the small town with no natural beauty - the "former atlantic rainforest" (fields of sugarcane and grazing fields that used to be forest) leaves a little to be desired. but my school was great, loved my students, and lived with an awesome host family. i am already plotting my return to brazil (but somewhere where i can go hiking and climbing). actually i am mostly leaving now because i decided to get a master's in TESOL, doing the peace corps masters international program so i'm heading to california for the fall.
i am currently being flooded with brazilian flag themed gifts from students and friends.
fragganika, did you write the "final paper" for IICA? i am definitely not feeling into it. |

Wow...time flies right?! I bet you learned a ton of Port. in a town that small...
And man, do I know what you mean about the "natural" beauty of the flat, former rainforest... |
