Whats up folks,
Do most of the schools in CR provide their teachers with adequate teaching materials or should I bring the majority of them from home? Peace, Ben |

It really depends on the schools. Some like Instituto Britanico in San Pedro have a library of teaching recipe books, Ingles Empersarial also has a shelf of books and weekly meetings to give teachers teaching ideas. Universidad Latina, where I work, is building a library as well and has monthly teacher workshops. Other schools have almost nothing in the way of teaching materiels available.
If I were moving down again, I'd bring a grammar reference book, a teaching theory book and a few activity books that give ideas from beginner to advanced, like the Jill Hatfield or Penny Ur communication books, just to have something close at hand for quick reference. And to be able to use for giving private classes. Otherwise there are also tons of resources on the Internet.
Good luck in moving here and write me if you have more specific questions about teaching here. |
