Hi, I am thinking about enrolling in Via Lingua in Firenze to obtain my TEFL certificate in mid-October. I know that the CELTA is considered the best but it is only offered in Rome or Milan, and I receive a free room in Firenze from a friend.
Please tell me if you think or know that this school is quite thorough in their training. Yes, I will try to look for work in Italy afterwards, and face the difficulty of being an American w/o EU passport, but I have some connections with my bocce club there. The members are quite helpful to me.
I just graduated with a BA in English. Looking to take a gamble with Italy. All the doors are open. Ciao, bambinajade

I know you asked specifically about Via Lingua - Florence, which I don't know anything about, but I did attend the Via Lingua - Rome class last November. I was totally satisified the course. It is externally moderated and is becoming more respected in the TEFL world... from what I hear anyway. No one from my class had a problem finding work after the course was completed, and everyone seemed quite pleased with the intensity of the course.

If you have a free room in Florence you should take the course there. Although a CELTA course is more respected, the thought of paying 700 Euros for a room makes me sick and you will find work anyway.

I took the Via Lingua course in Crete, but my friend did it in Florence. Both of us were really satisfied with our respective courses and had no trouble finding jobs afterwards. CELTA is a name but Via Lingua is slowly but surely making a name for themselves- and they deserve to, they're a good, professional course. Best of luck to you!

When did you do the course CPS 1116?

I did it last April/May. Did you have a crazy English bird with sticking out ears? I've forgotten her name temporarily! A trainer by the way, not a fellow student.

Very good course overall. I'm currently working in Bangkok, but plan to teach in Italy within the next few years...
