Hi there I've just completed my TESL course and am interested in teaching south of Brasil, in the city of Florianopolis. Any suggested english schools to look into??? Does anyone have anything to say about the area??? I know the more popular cities are Sao Paulo and Rio, but I'm trying to stay away from the big cities. |

you must murmur, whisper that name.
basically im going there after ive taught here (lisbon) but am buggered if i ever found any info about it. one of my colleagues has taught there tho, and she says its a piece of piss to find work.
falas portugs? vai la e comear procurar trabalho quando chegas.
if u speak portuguese, just go and look for work when u arrive. i think thats the best way for floripa. take a lotta cash.
also, let me know how it goes. tchauzinhu! |

I can imagine it being hard to find work in the area- Floripa is pretty spread out, not a big place, with many choosing to live around the beaches...
Personally, I think that the island is more beautiful than Rio and doesn't have the crime. I love it there! I lived in Blumenau (another city over) for a year but was in Floripa most weekends. I can tell you more about the area if you PM me... as for work, no idea anymore. A school named CCBEU might be operating there. Wizard was one of the most popular companies.
Good luck! Samizinha |
