A friend of mine who works in France was stopped, rather roughly, by a group of youths, who beat him up and then proceeded to torch his car.
This will happen to all you damned infidels! he was informed.
As he lay in a pool of his own blood, he could not help but notice that all these poor deprived young people were dressed more elegantly than he could ever afford to do on his miserable TEFL wage.
Slipping into unconsciousness, he heard the cry of Allah hu-akbar!.
Hurrah for multiculturalism! |

Not sure why I'm replying to this lame bit of attempted provocation. Maybe because I agree in general with the sentiment behind it, but find it so poorly expressed that it backfires on our poor OP.
For one thing, dear Hector, your whole story smacks of the apocryphal. For another, I seriously doubt your friend's supposed attackers were dressed "more elegantly" than he was. I know kids like these--bands of them hang out down the street from me--and with their baggy trousers, hooded sweatshirts, and ridiculous-looking sneakers, the last thing you could call them is "elegantly dressed." Expensively dressed, perhaps, but elegant? Hardly. |

Obviously you dont know how badly my friend dresses.
Apocalyptic rather than apocryphal. |

Yes, well, their lack of elegance means it's OK to kick the poo out of passers-by? You might be weird, but I'm sure you dress nicely. |
