Hi!
over on the Japan forum there's a guy called Keith who reckons he and his friends were getting (unless i've made a bad mistake with exchange rates) something like 10,000 euros a day in Germany, recently. Far as I can gather this was for high-level, specialised business English, negotiation skills, cultural differences, that kind of thing. Does this sound accurate to you guys? If so, I'm in the wrong country. Would be nice to know.

I reckon you made a mistake in your currency conversion. 1000 Euros is likely, 10 000 per day is dreaming.

I agree with Showem, except that it's possible, not likely.

You need a very good reputation or excellent marketing to earn that kind of money, even in a rich place like Germany, and not many people have it.

Lambsdorff, a colleague told me, used to speak for DM 2.000 a throw*, and he was exceptionally well-connected in business and politics (he was economics minister, and on the boards of about 20 large companies). Admittedly, that was a long time ago, but the notion that an English teacher could rise to such levels is.... well, unlikely.

*DM 2.000 is a few cents less than �1.000

I doubt Lambsdorff was speaking for an entire day. More like a couple of hours.

Last intensive course I taught 2 years ago was �800 per day for 4 days, for 4 participants. Nothing unlikely about it, lots of companies charge more than I do. Remember, this isn't individuals paying, it's businesses paying for a specialized training course.

Over on the Japan forum I was talking about training I did for T-Com. It was 600 a day plus travel and expenses (i.e. 800). It wasn't for English though, it was for Business Skills Training in English; presentations, negotiations, technical writng, and stuff like that.
