Can anyone provide a ballpark figure of the number of weeks the process to obtain a visa might take from the time an inital contract is issued to the time the final contract is issued? I also know that the contract needs to be signed off by the Ministry. Can anyone advise me of what the steps are - do they apply for the visa and have the contract signed off by the Ministry concurrently? Or do they wait for the visa then the Ministry signs off weeks later?
I understand that once the contract is signed and finalized by the Ministry, now it's become an official and binding agreement and now one can pack his/her bags? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
The reason I'm asking is because I do not want to notify my employer as of yet of my resignation until I receive an official signed contract from them? Time is of the essence and planning this is definetely not an easy task!
Any suggestions! I would highly appreciate all experiences and comments!
Thanks to one and all! |

I never had a signed official contract until I had been in the country and even teaching for some time.
As every employer is different... with different procedures and differing efficiency --- this is a question that only your employer can answer with any degree of accuracy.
Anything we would say would be a complete uninformed guess...
