|
|
I really want to work in Paris this summer, I'm a UK citizen, have a CELTA and a year's experience of EFL teaching from kindergarten, teenagers and adults in China.
Does anyone have any points to direct me in? Where to get more information, how likely it is for me to find work at a summer school, what sort of salary can I expect?
My main motivations for going are to improve my French over the summer, and I want to live in the city, not some suburb that has 'really good links' to the city.
Thank you! |

Not likely you'll find work in Paris in the summer. Remember, come July and August, the French brain basically shuts down and all work comes to a halt. If you just want to spend the summer in Paris, that should be easy enough and not too expensive: plenty of departing Parisians sublet their apartments for the summer months. Check out www.fusac.fr or craigslist.
There are language-learning camps during the summer months, but they're either in the Alps or on the seashore, a long way from the asphalt of the city. |

Thanks for the reply!
I wonder if my intermediate level French could enable me to work as a waitress or something.. not unlike many of the blue collar workers in my own country... |

Can anyone give me the names of some good companies to approach about summer jobs on the coast or in the Alps? I am from the UK and will be going over to France as a newly qualified CELTA next year. Have reasonable french as studied to university level.
Also, what kind of salary can I expect from a summer posting? |
