I haven't heard of anyone coming across any major problems with not having a CELTA in Oman (although perhaps it would be an issue if applying at British Council).

stabnkill, Thanks for the feedback about CELTA vs. other certificates. The CELTA was my first choice, but time and economics dictate that I take the locally offered TEFL, which I will begin on Monday 8th March.
I have heard other chatter about various schools/entities not accepting on-line master's degrees. At least one poster pointed out that on his/her degree there was no way to tell if it was earned on-line or on-site. Guess the solution is to make sure the program at least includes a practicum and some on-site work.
Will keep this in mind if and when I begin a master's program. |
