Don't know anything about this place as MLI has just acquired it, but security is not an issue anywhere in the UAE. You will need a military i.d. to enter the facility, and crime is generally non-existent. Of course, petty theft happens sometimes, so following the same rules of being careful as back home always helps. I've never felt safer anywhere else than here (Abu dhabi in my case, but Al Ain is even smaller so should be safer). As for housing, you will probably get the same amount as everyone in Abu Dhabi (70000 AED), which will be more than enough for a decent place. |

Shadowfax: Did you ever get any more info on Khalifa Air College? Anything about the students and such? Package was meant to be very attractive. |

Hi
According to the MLI website, Khalifa Air College has no vacancies for the time being. Surely somebody's gotta be working there or at least know someone who is there.
Any further info about this place would be much appreciated?
Do they really give 70, 000 AED for housing?

Housing in Abu Dhabi is more expensive than any other emirate. There are very few one bedrooms so that allowance would make sense there. If they give you the same on in Al Ain, I suspect you'll be living like a prince. |

found them to be a bunch of Aston-university inspired jargonophiliacs going nowhere but doing very well in knightsbridge. |

What is with this thread? Why do I find it impossible to follow? Have some key posts been deleted, or was I up too late last night? |

Hear hear Bindair!
Er, what's wrong with Aston University? (Except of course that the degress are by DL and probably not accepted at MLI?)
The requirement for Khalifa Air college is a BA, so where does Aston fit into that scenario?
70,000 will probably get you something Ok in Ad, but see previous messages re restrictions on places to choose from. Can new teachers get the allowance? Don't they have to stay in MLI accom for a year? I mean, who would want to arrive new in a foreign country and have to start looking for housing and then dealing with extra company-based bureaucracy?
Yeah - looks like messages have been censored, but please in future leave enough to make the message intelligible. |
