I'm in China teaching now and looking to make the big move to Taiwan in September. Question is: How much start-up money should I bring? I can muster around 2,000USD I think. In different places on the forum I've read you need 1,000 - 3,000USD. Some said you need 3,000 US just to get the two month visa? I have a four BA English. American. Experience teaching in China for a couple of years (tired of the bloody mainland!).

Appreciate any help. I want to save money for graduate school and study Chinese more. My Chinese is OK now (read a bit, speak OK) but I'd like to master it!

K.
