Just wanted to be sure that everyone knows not to accept employment offers from Berlitz Istanbul. They are not a reputable school. See the other message thread below for more detail.

No matter what you think, no matter how desperate you are for work. Just don't go there.

My experience with Berlitz Istanbul and its director Solmaz, was hellish. They want you to lie to students, work when sick, and will try to hold you to a contract that is COMPLETELY invalid.

If you are working as a teacher under a contract that has NOT been STAMPED by the Ministry of Education, it is an INVALID contract in Turkey.

Don't believe their lies about 'in process', or any other b.s. He filed a court document against me saying I owed $3000 for 'breach of contract'.

Ha! The contract is INVALID! Don't fall for it. I quit because I was not recovering from an illness and they would not give me ANY time off. I offered to go part time, but noooooooooo, my contract says fulltime. So I quit.

STAY AWAY FROM BERLITZ ISTANBUL (oh, I guess you could just say Berlitz in general from other posts I've read)

BTW, The English Centre in Sisli is the class act in Istanbul.

gule gule
