Issues related to health/food--what health problems foreigners might face in various regions of Peru, what the typical foods are, how difficult (easy!) it is to be vegetarian here, etc.
I can help with the last one. I've had quite a bit of success here with the food. I need some time to put together the info, though. Right now I'm busy with packing and sorting out my life...

If your original birth certificate and orginal certificate saying that you're single are in SPanish, then it will take a little less time, but not that much. |

I definately second Denise's suggestions.
I wrote an orientation pack for our new teachers in Mexico. It included a section titled "Nasty things we hope you won't get." Which also addressed how to avoid getting those things. Staying Healthy, could be a nicer title for the section.
I also went through the Lonely Planet Mexico's food guide in the front of the book and ADDED local dishes, fruits, veggies, and insects that were not on the list. |

In the USA; it's called a record not found. Basically they look for a marriage record, then when they don't gfind it, they give you something that says they couldn't find it and this means you single.
If you're in Peru, go to your embassy and swear that you're single. |

The frequently asked questions I get in terms of teaching are mainly centred around qualifications and how to get a job in advance.
Questions about living in Peru centre on crime levels and availability of books in English, toiletries, clothes and shoe sizes and the social network in different places.
Any questions about Trujillo, I'm happy to deal with. Maybe I could put together some comments on Trujillo, covering the availibility of work etc. Let me know if you want me to do that - I won't be able to get to it right away as I am about to head down the Amazon for a week of hammock time in the jungle. Couldn't say that if I was still in Blighty!! |

FYI, The FAQ is locked, so it's difficult to add info. I've added basic info, as usual, there's always more info, but I just wanted to include the basics. |
