I've been a qualified teacher for 15 years. I think class sharing is a good idea. I don't get the obsession with grammar teaching in the op either. What an odd thread! |

Does anyone have any further information on this? The original post is three years old. Has anyone worked here recently?
I've applied for a job in IH DNK and this thread is quite worrying. |

I have information on this school, I work at IH Donetsk and have also worked at IH Dnepro. The comments above are outdated. If you want more up to date information send me a message. |

Hi Tamara123!
I am hoping to apply to IH Lviv , and a few other spots outside of Kiev.
What is the current scene in terms of visa/work permits... I heard that IH is one of the "BETTER" of the fastfood schools, and they actually set you up legally... Of course it depends on the management at the time (I've been in Korea for 3 years and its certainly the same over here)
Sorry I couldn't PM you, I gotta build up more posts I guess :-p |

I worked at IH DNK for over 10 years and I can still remember people behind these stories and grievances. They might be over emotional but the stories and the situations behind them are true. I wouldn't like to go into much detail but just FYI: over 80% of local staff (teachers, receprionists, designers, etc) left the school in recent years. Make your own conclusions. Working there is like playing Russian roulette - you may be lucky or not so much. I think how much you will be happy or disappointed also much depends on your aims, personal values and expectations. Anyway, if you're really interested in working in Ukraine, there are other schools to choose from |

as for the previous post about 'going on forever'. if you don't want to contribute, may i suggest surfing some other thread??
i would be interested if the situation in IH DNK is the same. ie. same owner, same director/DOS, same acccomodation issues, etc.
any info appreciated. cheers. |
