I am finally getting my work visa, Very Happy but am wondering about the next step in the process AFTER I arrive. Do I have to check in with anyone, other than the school? I will be working at a private school in Bursa. Do I go to them and ask for more documentation? Do I need to bring my credentials (TESL certificate, degree) with me or just the scanned-into-my-email version? How long do I have to accomplish any checking-in that may be required? Is this done in Istanbul, Ankara or Bursa? Confused Confused Confused

Your help is greatly appreciated.
Peace

You have a certain amount of time (and I'm not sure what that is -- maybe 2 weeks) to apply for your little work permit/residence booklet, available for a fee at the Yabancilar Sube at the Emniyet. School officials should accompany you and pay for you (though some schools don't -- they're over $100 now for a year). You will need the form filled out and some photographs. Technically you don't have permission to work or to stay with what you have in your passport -- they are only the first step. Having the booklet is the final step. It's painless really, just time-consuming and expensive.
