i will be arriving in japan in early march. i have no job, or accomodation waiting for me there. the job search i am not TOO worried about, but the accomodation seems to be a major issue. Apparently at this time of year, Tokyo gets fully booked out with Japanese university hopefuls, and accomodation becomes scarce.
so, are you (anyone) able to offer any suggestions, or advice for where we should spend our first week in Tokyo?

also, i will be looking for teaching work, whilst my girlfriend will be looking into 'other' employment, both in Tokyo. If i land a job that offers accomodation in the package, how do i go about dropping that my girlfriend is with me? and will this factor count against me for a prospective employer? how do i go about this issue?

thank you for any help offered - all of it is much appreciated.
