No need to start a thread. Just email please. [email protected].

I will be entering Oman soon to begin a teaching job. I will be bringing music cds, some of which are copied and PS2 games which are of course copied. Will I have a problem getting these through customs at the airport???? Thank you for your answer.

So Menace,

You don't want other people to know the answer to this? Smile It seems a question that others would like to know the answer too.

It would be nice if someone who had entered in the last year or so would post. They never worried much about music in the past. But, I wonder if they can tell CDs from DVDs?? They have always taken videos to check out beforehand. (the porn issue) So, they may take your stuff to confirm that it is just music. Everyone that I know that has had things held by customs for checking has always got it back... eventually. It is mostly just a hassle having to go to get it at the same time as you have dozens of other things to do as you settle in.

So, if anyone has current data on this, please share it with all.

Copied CD's isn't a problem.

I came into Oman a year ago and didn't have any problems with any of my music or books. I don't know about movies or games, although I doubt games would usually be a problem.

I entered Oman recently with books, DVDs, videos and CDs. My luggage included copies of games software I had burned in the UK. I also had codeine and paracemol tablets (codeine is unobtainable here) - they didn't even check my bags after they went through the x-ray machine.

Maybe I was just lucky.
