Hi everyone,
Why is it so hard to get a job in Rio, in fact anywhere in Brazil, if you live outside the country?
Also, I have searched the internet far and wide and I have found many job/volunteer placement programs that are very expensive and provide you with accomodation/food and a place to teach, however there are no services for the student on a shoe-string budget. I would have thought that someone out there would have started an agency where they keep your resume/photo etc. on file and try to get you a job in your desired location. If and when they manage to gain progress and/or secure you a spot/s and you accept the prospective position, you simply pay them a consulting fee of a few hundred dollars or something and you've saved yourself a lot of wasted time trying to contact dozens of faceless people from thousands of miles away in hopes of landing a job. Everyone knows how personable people are in Brazil and if an agent spoke to a director of a language school face to face on your behalf, I think you would have a much better chance of getting that job you were looking for.
I would certainly be willing to pay a few hundred dollars to someone who could secure me a job in Rio and I know there are many out there who would do the same. I'm hoping some enterprising individauls will take a bite at this opportunity.
Take care everyone,
