Anyone know much about this town? Does it have an expat population, nightlife etc. or does it feel like a very rural town? thanks...

I saw that on the job board as well.

I never heard of Macae, but it is in the Estados of Rio de Jainero. So it can't be all that bad. Cabo Frio and Buzious are BOTH VERY famous and very popular. It's possible that Macae could be a cheaper version of a beach town similar to them, which would be very good.

I taught in Brazil in the past, and the cost of living is HIGH in Rio/Sao Paulo, and the wages are LOW.

Maybe in Macae the low Brazilian wages may match a low cost of living? Might be real nice! I found Brazil to be GREAT regardless of where you were at in the country.
