Would be dad be category "b" or "d"?

My dad was born in Macao but took up residence in HK in the 1950's. Lived there for 20 years but immigrated to Canada in the 1970's. My dad Chinese Nationality or a foreiger? Me being his son born in Canada, will joining him and trying to get my HK ID card. Will i be eligible for one? My dad his proof that he lived there for over 7 years and has his BA Degree and working letters proving he was a HK permanant resident. Main thing would be, can i get a HK ID card through my dad.
