A few months ago I signed a contract with an institute for a job starting in April. The job offer was conditional: as long as I could travel to Japan for a meeting with the school board because most of my contract hours would be spent teaching in a high school. The remaining few hours would be teaching in the institute.
I have now been informed that I must prepare a presentation for my interview with the school board. Although I am confident I will do well, I was under the impression that the job was mine. I feel I have been misled into thinking that a standard meeting is actually an interview.
The owner of the institute has already secured an apartment and my visa is being processed. Has anyone else been in this situation?
Thanks in advance for any replies. |

elizabeth,
Don't worry. Making a presentation (presumably a demonstration lesson) is not that uncommon. You will probably have to do it for 10-15 minutes.
You have a whole month and a half to prepare. |
