Hello,

My friend and I will be heading to India in February after teaching ESL in Korea. In 02 I spent 6 weeks in Mysore, studying yoga and Indian dance.
Is there a neat little town like that in Northern India where we can study dance and yoga and have a good blend between Westerners and Indians?
Will it be very cold in Northern India in Feb/March?
Thanks for your tips!

You could try Pushkar or Rishikesh. Both towns are holy sites and have a mix of Indian Hindu pilgrims and western longterm travellers who study yoga, dance, music, etc. Have a great time Very Happy

Yes, they are both good cities, otherwise try Varanasi also known as Banares in Uttar Pradesh. Again, a holy city on the Ganges river and very popular with long term travellers who study music, yoga, hindi among other projects.
If you want more up to date info go to www.indiamike.com
Very Happy

Ah, the glories of pedestrian traffic jams. And that was before the population doubled.

On a tangent read Pankash Misra's the romantics, which is set in Varanasi. In fact read anything by Pankash Misra.

Varanasi is absolutely amazing. I spent a small amount of time there a few years ago and really found it fascinating. I would definitely consider it! Smile
