Back in September I applied to the MOE for an expat teacher post/scheme. After 6 weeks I emailed for an update on my application to be told that I would be notified 'soon'. After another 3 similar emails over the following months, of not hearing a thing ,I finally called their 'helpline' to be fobbed off with an 'its still being processed"!!!! When I pressed I got given a direct email address of someone to contact. Bingo...response within 48 hours!!
However i was then informed that I had been rejected! No explanation was offered. I am completely aghast at this. I sent every single document they requested (in duplicate) ,I meet all the listed qualification requirements and furthermore I have been working in a local school as a native english speaking teacher in Hong Kong for 6 years!!!
Can anyone enlighten me as to why I have been rejected? Could it be because I am British!
I have emailed the MOE and very nicely asked for feedback on my rejection and asked if it was worth reapplying next year or whether there is some deficit in my experience/quals but I received a very terse one line email in response. The MOE DOES NOT give reasons for rejections!!
Can anyone suggest another course of action for getting work in Singapore. I've heard the language schools are very badly paid. |
