I have just completed my TESOL course and am in the process of applying for jobs, ideally in Izmir. I have sent a speculative e-mail to Cakabey schools and also understand that Deulcom are advertising for a language school in Izmir.
If anyone has any information on either please let me know. (no insane ramblings about Turkish culture please)
Cheers

Hi well done
The high school(Cakabey) is a private one and is as already mentioned one of the more well known places, they recently had a clear out and a lot of good teachers went to other places .I'm not in contact with any one who currently works there but feed back over a peroid of time has been mixed .They offer a package of sorts but its not much to write home about unless they have had a rethink or whatever (doubtful) . If you are expecting lodging provided than you will be disappointed there are meals but not much else to say . I don't know the salary but unless you have experience under your belt or a lot of qualies than between 1,3 to 1,6 miliyar is the norm between 650 to 800 stirling . The real problem with the school is the location ,its quite a way out of town so its advisable to live on that side of town which is not that bad but the rents can be high if you want to live comfortablely . Maybe the other place might be a better option as I believe they may help with a place to live and its basically more central . What ever you choose good luck . |
