Ok, so I just received a phone call from New Delhi, confirming that my girlfriend and I have succeeded in getting teaching posts there. This was an hour after I had sent resumes/tefl certs/references etc. (We had had previous correspondence however.)
The company is the BLS Group of Education and is a management institute. They have been around for a decade or so but this is their first year of giving (free) ESL classes.
The package they are offering is as follows:
International round trip airfare
Rs. 35,000 monthly salary (I assume this is before tax)
Monthly food stipend of Rs.2,500
Free air-conditioned accommodation, plus bathroom & kitchen appliances
Local cultural trips paid by management
The contract is for 6 months and the institute will not be charging its students for the classes.
I have googled somewhat and found no damning reports of BLS, and so wondered if anyone has had any contact with them or would like to share their thoughts on this seemingly lucrative offer?
Thanks!
ps, the only downside I have found so far is class sizes of up to 30 students! |
