I found out recently that the MOE is offering up to $5000 to returning NZ trained teachers (with conditions of where you teach etc). Also for Early Childhood teachers there is an ad on the TES website by MOE that says they are providing flights, accomodation and travel costs to and from work if you return to work in the Auckland area?!
Sounds a bit generous for the Ministry! Has anyone looked into this one?

Conditions for teachers in NZ have improved quite significantly over the years. I think the Ministry offers more like $10,000 if you teach in areas of need such as Mathematics, Science, and Maori. Check out www.teachnz.co.nz

Early Childhood educators are on a winning run too. There are many scholarships available for them, and work is pretty much guaranteed. Just check out www.trademe.co.nz/jobs

My sister left school with no qualifications, and will shortly be earning close to $50k per annum (which is good money here).

I cry myself to sleep every night. I have a double degree in Arts and Law, and finding work in my field is a struggle Crying or Very sad
