I am wondering if anyone has experience or insight as to what they are like to work for?

they aren't your ordinary students ; they're employees
and they'll let you know that

working for KPC is above the dreams of ordinary kuwaitis
employment requirements include connections and the ego to match as well as an advanced degree in wasta development and management

if you've ever taught spoiled, insolent kuwaiti kids, you'll recognize KPC employees to be their parents

having said all that - they'll expect the last day of the week to be 'party day' and they'll share their expensive catering with you
they'll slouth through the work and think they're above it all

I taught for a while at the Burgan oil field. I enjoyed it immensely. Also taught at their training centre in Ahmadi. Didn't enjoy that at all. The main difference was that I (a man) had female students at Ahmadi. I realise that the poster is a woman and may take offence. Sorry, but that's my view.

I taught KNPC students a while back. they were lovely guys.

If you get a job with KOC- demand a car, a flight, 250KD living allowance and at least 900KD a month for a 5 hour day and REFUSE to do a split shift.

BTW _ can anyone explain why I can say :

It was fun / interesting.
It was so interesting.

but I can't say

Sorry about your brain fart, Miski. Have a f**** fart instead. Probably more fun for girls. Getting back to the point, I enjoyed my time at Burgan but not so much at Ahmadi. Teaching oil workers in Kuwait is OK. Dull but the lads are pleasant.

Dear Miski,

"So" is followed by an adjective or an adverb :
eg. Her father is so rich that she's never travelled on a bus.
He spoke to her so rudely that she walked out of the room

"Such" is followed by " a(n) (if necessary) + adjective+ noun
eg. Her father is such a rich man that she's never travelled by bus.
The cafe charges such high prices that students cannot afford to eat there.

OR "a(n) (if necessary) + noun only :

eg. They were treated with such kindness that they were reluctant to leave.

Hope that helps!

Thank you for the feedback. What they are offering so far is 6 - 45 minute teaching hours per day between the hours of 7am and 3pm. However, there is a clause that says the hours can be changed at the employers discretion. Has anyone had any experience negotiating contracts with the company and know how willing they are to negotiate on terms, and put amendments into their contracts?

Again any information is appreciated.

I would doubt the hours would change. The students won't come in earlier or stay later. 7am - 3pm has always been the norm in KPC.

You work in KPC as an employee of a sub-contractor.

The contracts have not been too stable of late - I believe Language Solutions (mentioned elsewhere in the forum) may have the current contract.

While you're at it, why don't you hit them up for a boat, a fully-stocked bar, and a limo to and from work? Rolling Eyes

Well rommel, scoff you may, but when I worked for the British Council here a few years ago, thats exactly what I got ( salary then slightly lower) Hours were 3-9 30- so no reason why KOC/KNPC shouldn't offer it.

Excuse my sarcasm, but I believe Language Solutions is running the show in those places and they are notoriously cheap.
And outside of B.C., I've never heard of any jobs for teachers in these adult programs that offer a car and 250 kd housing.
