Whatever has happened to "ghost" ? Has he had enough ? Has he given up on his ill-fated career as an EFL teacher ?

Maybe he has decided to take up that opportunity of getting into catering (i.e. selling ice cream on the streets of Whitby).

I think ghost went to Romania for the bayram/Eid al Fitr. He was going to check out the vibe there, but to be honest, if he found Turkey frustrating and objectionable on so many levels, Romania is going to drive him up the wall. They operate on similar principles. I loved Romania and am quite fond of Turkey for those reasons... the relaxed, open atmosphere, the pleasure taken in a few cups of tea with friends or a puff on the nargile. I like the more excited and vociferous noise levels even... it all just feels a bit more alive and focussed on things i see as important- family, friends, community.

I hope he does find a place to call home. I'd like to read an unstressed post from him sometime.
