Hi,
We're departing for Doha in less than a month. According to the customs regulations, Qatar prohibits "wireless transmitters and communications equipment." I have an Apple Airport wireless base station I'd like to bring. Is that the sort of thing that's prohibited? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks! |

Officially, these are prohibited. I lived in Qatar for 4 years and some people I met had brought in your type of device (walkie talkies, baby monitors, etc.). Just bring it into the country and hope they don't question you about it. If they do, explain it is to monitor your kids or something nice sounding. |

I've never heard of this prohibition. When I came to Qatar I had my computer and apple airport wireless with my in my luggage. Nobody said boo. They're readily available here too. |
